In a series of precise airstrikes, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet security service have eliminated two high-profile terrorists linked to the October 7, 2023, massacre: Ahmed Byukh, who participated in the raid on the Re'im camp, and Asam Abu Huli, head of the Nukhba unit in the central camps of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror organization. The operations were conducted in response to recent violations of ceasefire agreements by Hamas and PIJ operatives in the Gaza Strip.

Byukh was targeted in northern Gaza Strip following breaches by the Hamas terror organization. He was a terrorist who stormed the Re'im camp during the October 7 massacre, where Hamas-led attackers killed and abducted civilians and soldiers. Additional terrorists involved in attacks across the Gaza Strip were also eliminated in the strikes, as documented by IDF footage of precise aerial fire.

The strikes over the past 24 hours came directly in retaliation for a violation of the ceasefire agreement yesterday, Saturday, when armed terrorists emerged, likely from an underground infrastructure near IDF forces. These operatives had been active in recent periods rehabilitating the capabilities of terror organizations in the Gaza Strip and advancing terror plots targeting IDF forces and the State of Israel.

In one of the key operations, Byukh was neutralized amid these efforts to counter ongoing threats from the north. The IDF and Shin Bet emphasized that the targeted individuals were directly involved in plotting attacks against Israeli targets.

Separately, in strikes responding to a ceasefire violation in eastern Rafah last week on Monday, Asam Abu Huli was eliminated. Abu Huli served as the head of the Nukhba apparatus in the central camps of the PIJ terror group, also known as Gaza Palestinian Islamic Jihad. In this role, he was responsible for supplying combat means to terrorists in the brigade and for advancing and executing terror plots against IDF forces.

Abu Huli commanded Nukhba terrorists in the brigade, some of whom raided Israeli territory during the murderous October 7 massacre. Throughout the war, he oversaw training for Nukhba operatives, practicing scenarios for kidnapping IDF soldiers.

These eliminations underscore the IDF and Shin Bet's ongoing operations to dismantle terror infrastructures in Gaza, particularly those tied to the October 7 attacks and subsequent violations of truce agreements. The strikes highlight the continued focus on neutralizing commanders responsible for both historical atrocities and emerging threats.
