Rep. Thomas Massie sharply criticized Pam Bondi, expressing a profound lack of confidence in her ability to serve effectively as Attorney General, stating that she lacks self-confidence and accountability in her role.

In a pointed excerpt from a Rush interview, Massie declared, "I don’t think Pam Bondi has confidence in Pam Bondi." He elaborated on her performance during a hearing, saying, "She wasn’t confident enough to engage in anything but name calling in a hearing so no, I don’t have confidence in her."

Massie highlighted Bondi's lack of accountability at the Department of Justice, noting, "She hasn’t got any sort of accountability there at the deo j." He referenced a specific incident where he pressed her on a critical issue involving document redactions.

During the exchange, Massie asked Bondi directly, "who redact leslie wexner name from the one document that mattered." He recounted, "she couldn’t give me an answer. She wouldn’t give me an answer," underscoring her unwillingness to provide clarity on the matter.

Massie emphasized the legal responsibilities inherent to the Attorney General position, asserting, "ultimately it’s her who was responsible for the document production according to our law." He made clear that ultimate authority rests with Bondi herself.

"The attorney general is not Todd Blanche, it’s not the people below," Massie stated firmly, distinguishing Bondi's role from subordinates. He argued that while tasks can be delegated, core duties cannot be shifted.

"Then you can assign tasks to people, but you can’t assign your responsibility," Massie concluded, reinforcing his view that Bondi bears personal accountability for oversights in document handling and transparency.
