In a late-night letter to lawmakers on Saturday, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the Justice Department has released all files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, fulfilling its obligations under the Epstein Transparency Act.
The correspondence, sent on behalf of the DOJ, emphasized that the department has disclosed every pertinent record in its possession. “In accordance with the requirements of the Act, and as described in various Department submissions to the courts of the Southern District of New York assigned to the Epstein and [Ghislaine] Maxwell prosecutions and related orders, the Department released all ‘records, documents, communications and investigative materials in the possession of the Department’ that ‘relate to’ [Epstein],” the letter stated.
Bondi and Blanche outlined the reasons for redactions in certain portions of the files, noting that these were consistent with prior court submissions and orders from the Southern District of New York handling the Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell cases.
The release includes a detailed list of government officials and “politically exposed persons” named in the documents, highlighting the breadth of individuals connected to the Epstein investigation in DOJ records.
Among those named are President Donald Trump, former President Joe Biden, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, musician Bruce Springsteen, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, California Senator Adam Schiff (D), actors Robert De Niro and Alec Baldwin, singer Barbra Streisand, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama, along with many others.
The Justice Department's action marks the completion of its commitments under the Epstein Transparency Act, providing lawmakers and the public with extensive materials from the federal investigations into Epstein's activities.
