But the dilemma for the Trump Administration is if their one page memo opens up the Strait of Hormuz, that eliminates all the coercive power that they have vis a vis the Iranians that shifts the balance of power strongly to the Iranian side. And so I think that creates a real dilemma for the Trump Administration, compounded by what you were just talking about with Peter. The president wants this war to be over both for for elections and also for his meeting with Xi Jinping. He’s in a hurry for a deal. And I learned from bitter experience. You should never be in a hurry to negotiate with difficult interlocutors. And the Iranians are difficult interlocutors."
