Renowned performance artist Marina Abramovic has revealed she now requires bodyguards for daily protection following death threats linked to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. Speaking about her recent experiences in Amsterdam, where she has lived for 30 years, Abramovic described a chilling atmosphere of fear during her opera performances, including warnings of armed individuals targeting her presence at the venue.

Abramovic detailed the ordeal during a recent interview, explaining that she needed "bodyguards" every single day to travel to and from the theater. The artist was performing at "the opera, seven their Somalia theater in Amsterdam," a location she knows intimately after three decades in the city. Security measures became necessary after "an announcement in all that the alarm that there will be people... with weapons in the theater, when I’m there."

The threats, according to Abramovic, stem directly from coverage on "the Alex Jones solve this year," referring to the InfoWars host's platform. This escalation forced her to alter her routine dramatically, with armed guards escorting her amid fears for her safety during performances and transit.

“And you know this problem is that I have start having bodyguards, because I, in all day I had the that the opera, seven their Somalia theater in amsterdam, and I lived there for 30 years," Abramovic stated. "I had to bit gaudy guard every single day to go to theater and back because there was an announcement in all that the alarm that there will be people. The weapons in in the theater, when I’m there. Because of the Alex Jones solve this year.”

The situation took an even more surreal turn as she prepared to leave following performances with "the laws they are performers." Outside the venue stood "enormous beautiful made for press roses, the heart in the front of tilt-," which Abramovic initially believed were a gesture for her. She later realized they were "for the children," adding to the emotional toll of the ordeal.

Abramovic expressed profound distress over the incidents, concluding her remarks with raw emotion: “finish the work at this her or this approaches for the children you just it honestly, it’s not fun at all- and I am I am just horrified by this.” Her words underscore the personal impact of online rhetoric spilling into real-world dangers.

The artist's account highlights ongoing tensions between cultural figures and fringe media personalities like Alex Jones, whose platforms have previously amplified conspiracy theories involving Abramovic. While she continues her work, the need for constant protection marks a stark new reality for the veteran performer in her longtime home of Amsterdam.
