The national capital has been placed on high alert following intelligence inputs indicating apossible terror threat, prompting Delhi Police and multiple security agencies to intensify surveillance and security measures across sensitive locations in the city, sources told PTI on Saturday. According to sources quoted by the report, security has been significantly increased at theBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarterson Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg and nearby government establishments. Additional armed personnel have been deployed, while barricading and strict vehicle checking are being carried out in and around key areas.

Sources told PTI that agencies have received alerts about possible attempts to target prominent offices and crowded places in central Delhi through suicide attacks, vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (IEDs), shootings, and coordinated strikes.

Anti-sabotage checks are currently underway at major government buildings, political offices, markets, transport hubs and other crowded public spaces across the city.

Bomb disposal squads, sniffer dog units, and quick reaction teams, along with the Delhi Fire Service, have also been directed to remain on alert.

"Police have been directed to maintain strict vigil on suspicious movements, unattended objects and vehicles parked in sensitive zones," a source told PTI.

Security arrangements have also been tightened in settlements and areas considered vulnerable from a law-and-order perspective. Local police units are conducting random checking drives and verification exercises in several parts of the city.

The source added that all district units have been instructed to remain alert and maintain close coordination with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces.

Senior officers are continuously monitoring the situation and reviewing security arrangements across Delhi, the source told PTI.
