Republican SenatorMarsha Blackburnis sounding the alarm over a dangerous culture of incompetence and scandal inside the United States Secret Service following a string of embarrassing incidents and alleged security failures tied to President Trump’s protection, Vice President JD Vance, or the rest of his administration.
In a fiery statement posted to X on Wednesday, Blackburn called for an “immediate audit” of every Secret Service employee on the agency’s payroll.
“Following a string of scandals, personnel issues, and security failures, I am calling on the Secret Service to conduct an immediate audit of every single employee on its payroll,” Blackburn wrote.
“If this agency does not root out the rot, our nation will suffer the consequences.”

The Tennessee senator alsosent a formal letteron Thursday to Secret Service Director Sean Curran, warning that recent events have exposed what she called a “clear pattern of incompetence” within the agency tasked with protecting President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, cabinet officials, and the White House itself.
According to Blackburn’s letter, the concerns intensified after an armed left-wing assassin infiltrated the White House Correspondents’ Dinner before later being charged in connection with an assassination attempt against President Trump.
Blackburn argued that, had it not been for “brave agents who swiftly acted,” the incident could have ended in catastrophe.
