In a fusion of modern K-pop stardom and ancient Korean heritage, global icons BTS and BLACKPINK are weaving national treasures into their highly anticipated comeback projects, partnering with historic landmarks and institutions to shine a spotlight on traditional Korean culture worldwide.

BLACKPINK is set to collaborate with the National Museum of Korea in central Seoul to celebrate the February 27 release of its new EP, "Deadline." The quartet marks a milestone as the first K-pop act to launch a large-scale collaboration with the prestigious national museum.

Dubbed the "National Museum of Korea X BLACKPINK" project, the initiative kicks off on February 26 and runs for 11 days. It is a joint effort between the museum, the global music streaming platform Spotify, and YG Entertainment, the group's agency, which announced the partnership on Thursday.

"Deadline" represents BLACKPINK's first full-group project in three years and five months, following their previous album "Born Pink," which dropped in September 2022. Fans have eagerly awaited new music from the powerhouse girl group during this extended hiatus.

As part of the collaboration, BLACKPINK members will lend their voices to audio commentaries for eight of the museum's signature artifacts. Visitors can listen to the idols' descriptions of Korea's historical treasures, blending contemporary pop appeal with cultural education.

To further amplify the excitement, the National Museum of Korea's exterior will be illuminated in the group's signature pink color, coinciding with the EP's release and transforming the landmark into a vibrant beacon for K-pop enthusiasts and culture lovers alike.

This innovative project not only promotes BLACKPINK's comeback but also elevates Korea's rich heritage on the global stage, inviting international audiences to engage with national artifacts through the lens of one of the world's most popular K-pop acts.
