Kaik Brito scored a highlight-reel knockout over Ronald Paradeiser to capture the vacant welterweight title atOktagon 84on Saturday.

Brito nearly secured a first-round finish, taking Paradeiser’s back and locking in a tightrear-naked choke. But just when it seemed like the tapout was imminent, Paradeiser stayed calm and fought the grip, freeing himself from the maneuver.

Desperate to stay in control, Brito moved from back control to full mount, but that allowed Paradeiser to scramble his way off the mat, taking Brito’s back in the process. Paradeiser was ultimately unable to take advantage of the position and instead ate a sneaky spinning back fist from Brito moments before the end of the round.

Brito landed another big spinning attack in the second, but it was what he did in the third that would make him a world champion once again.

Just past the one-minute mark of the middle round, Brito connected with a boomingspinning back elbowthat had Paradeiser on wobbly legs. Brito moved in, forcing Paradeiser against the fence before unleashing yet another spinning back fist that connected clean and sent his opponent crashing to the canvas.

With Paradeiser clearly unable to defend himself, the referee quickly stepped in, bringing a stop to the bout.
