US President Trump seemed hesitant to release theEpstein files, but eventually signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which prompted theDepartment of Justiceto release millions of unsealed documents related to Jeffrey Epstein's case. Several individuals, including Elon Musk, claimed that the president wanted to stop the release because he was among those mentioned in the files.

Another former ally shared a similar claim. According to Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Georgia representative, Trump did his best to prevent the release of the files.

Brian Allen, an economics and geopolitics analyst and the founder of AllenInsights, shared a clip of Greene speaking about Trump initially trying to stop the release of the Epstein files. In the short clip, the businesswoman and politician alleged that the fight to keep the controversial files hidden started with the president.

'That fight to release the Epstein files came directly from President Trump,' Greenesaid. 'I know a lot of people have a hard time with that, but that is the truth. He fought the hardest to stop these files from being released.'

This assertion directly contradicts the public image Trump has cultivated after signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law in November 2025. Greene's comments imply that behind the scenes, the former president was deeply invested in keeping the lid on the documents.

Greene and Trump were former allies, but they had a falling out. The administrationaccusedGreene of tipping off protesters when the POTUS visited Joe's Seafood on 9 September 2025. She denied the allegation, calling it an 'absurd dangerous lie'.

Greene's remarks about Trump's stance on the release of Epstein files were not completely surprising. Several individuals had previously claimed that Trump stalled the release of the documents because he didn't want the public to see them in the first place, as his name is in them.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, a former Trump ally, also made a similar claim. In a post on X (formerlyTwitter) in June 2025, the Tesla CEO wrote, '@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.'

In a separate post, Musk added, 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.'
