Kim Kardashian is at times a controversial figure, but no one can doubt that she has succeeded at almost everything she has tried — from modeling, to television, to fashion.
So it is unusual to see her admit that the California Bar Examination — the test required to practice law in the state — has been too difficult for her to overcome, at least for now.
Kardashian failed the exam last year, and — according to Page Six —won’t take it this year, either. It is being offered in July for the second and last time in 2026.
Her reason is entirely valid: she is busy withfilming and productionfor other projects. That’s a good reason to skip the bar exam, because the only way to pass it is to devote several months to full-time study.
The bar exam is tough enough to pass in any state. In California, it is incredibly difficult.
Even students atelite law schoolstake private bar exam prep courses for months, spending thousands of dollars to review material they’ve already spent three years studying.
If you don’t have at least eight weeks to set aside, you’re not going to pass it.
So Kardashian is right to wait.
But it took courage to take the bar exam without going to a traditional law school.
And it took courage to admit that she did not pass. She had to know that there were haters out there, eager to see her fail, hoping to see their prejudices confirmed: models can’t be smart.
