Jakub Batfalský came out on top in a three-round war with German standout Eugen Black-Dell atOktagon 84on Saturday.
Black-Dell and Batfalský both had their moments on the feet, with the latter landing a big right hand that had Black-Dell on wobbly legs. As the opening round came to a close, Black-Dell secured a slick takedown and racked up some control time in a bid to steal the stanza, though it may not have been enough.
It was another close round in the second. Batfalský looked nearly indestructible, eating everything Black-Dell threw at him. But it was Black-Dell who appeared to land the more impactful strikes. Mixing in a few takedowns, we headed to the third round with a potentially deadlocked scorecard.
With the fight on the line, Black-Dell took control of the cage and lit up Batfalský for the final five minutes. Batfalský had little left in the tank, reducing him to a glorified punching bag.
But in the end, it was Batfalský’s work in the first two rounds that secured him his fourth win under theOktagon MMAbanner.
Official Result: Jakub Batfalský def. Eugen Black-Dell via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
