After a series of disclipinary breaches in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India have promised action and decided to crack the whip against franchises. The board's secretary Devajit Saikia made a shocking claim and revealed that unauthorised people are travelling with players in team buses as well as visiting them in team buses.

Saikia claimed the the Indian cricket governing body are preparing an advisory and claimed anyone not following them will be punished with strict action in the future. He also accused team owners are entering areas they are not allowed in.

"This time, we have observed various anomalies and irregularities in the conduct of certain franchises and players. So BCCI and IPL are preparing an advisory, and we are going to release that advisory this evening because we have noticed that there are a lot of unauthorised persons who are moving along with the team members. And some people who are unauthorised are coming to the hotels and to the players' rooms or the team officials' room, which is totally against our anti-corruption protocols.

"We have also seen that certain team owners and officials are mingling with players in areas where it is not allowed. So there are certain protocols we have to follow, and we have seen there are some dilutions. We have taken this very seriously. We are issuing an advisory, and it will be very strictly followed. If there is any violation hereinafter, then BCCI and IPL will take very stringent action," said Saikia in an interaction with News Agency ANI.

This season has seen multiple unwanted controversies from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp. First, the team's manager was caught by the camera using his mobile phone in the team dugout, which was a violation of the Player and Match Official Arena (PMOA) regulations. He was handed a fine of ₹1 Lakh.

Later, the team's skipper Riyan Parag was caught smoking vape in the dressing room. He was fined 25% of his match fees.
