Voters will decide on school districts’ 2026-2027 budgets and school board races when they head to the polls on Tuesday, May 19.

Levittown residents will vote on a$284,420,293budget with a 1.98% tax levy increase for the 2026-2027 school year. The budget, which is considered proposition one, marks a $10,073,518, or 3.67%, increase from the current school budget.

The second proposition on the ballot will ask voters to authorize spending up to $15 million on school building improvement projects without raising taxes. The proposition combines $4.6 million from the district’s 2023 Capital Reserve Fund with $10.4 million in unassigned fund balance for projects throughout the district.

A third proposition on the ballot will be for the Levittown Library’s $8,757,418 2026-2027 budget. One library board of trustee position will also be up for grabs.

There will also be four people vying for three seats with three-year terms on the district’s board of education.

Trustees Jennifer Messina and Phyllis Dalton are seeking new terms on the board and newcomers Daniel Larkn and Anne-Marie Guerra are looking to join the board. Trustee Michael Pappas is not seeking reelection.

Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, May 19, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., atGardiners Avenue School, East Broadway School, Levittown Memorial Education Center and Division Avenue High School.

Hicksville residents will vote on the district’s proposed $186,315,191 budget for the 2026-2027 school year, which marks a $5,503,767, or 3.04% increase, from the current year’s budget. The 2026-2027 budget includes a 2.58% tax levy increase, within the allowable tax cap.

Six people are vying for three open seats on the board of education, which the community will vote on.

Trustee Irene Carlomusto is not seeking re-election, and Kim Raspanti and Carolina Sanchez-Molina are both running for her seat.
