Just days after the Riyan Parag saga, Yuzvendra Chahal has landed himself in major soup and been accused of a major breach after a video of him smoking a vape inside a flight went viral on social media. If the allegations are proven true, it could land the wrist spinner in some legal trouble.
The clip emerged from a video posted by Arshdeep Singh on his YouTube channel on Wednesday (May 6). The clip was from PBKS' flight from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad for their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after playing Gujarat Titans (GT).
Chahal was alleged to be vaping in the background of Arshdeep's video, where he is talking to Suryansh Shedge. Several fans questioned the spinner's actions.
Fans claimed that Arshdeep later deleted the section of the video in which Chahal was vaping. However, the claims cannot yet be independently verified, and an official statement on the allegations is still awaited on the incident from Chahal, Arshdeep as well as PBKS. However, the incident kicked off a storm on social media.
Rules Breach By Yuzvendra Chahal?
Meanwhile, vapes and e-cigarettes are strictly banned from flights. As per regulations of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), passengers are not allowed to carry them in either the cabin or checked-in baggage. Any sort of smoking is also prohibited inside flights in India. Infact, even lighters are not allowed inside planes in India.
Second Vaping Incident In IPL 2026
This marks the second such instance of a player being caught vaping in IPL 2026. Earlier this season, Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Riyan Parag was spotted smoking a vape inside the dressing room during their clash against PBKS at New Chandigarh.
Parag was handed a 25% match fee fine by the BCCI for the regulation. However, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia made it clear that there was no police action.
As Chahal's incident was not inside the ground, no action is expected from the Indian cricket governing body.
