Korea's top general on Thursday visited a key Air Force unit in the central region and inspected the country's air defense posture, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
JCS Chairman Gen. Jin Yong-sung met with airmen of the 20th Fighter Wing in Seosan, about 100 kilometers southwest of Seoul, and urged them to maintain a "resolute" air defense posture based on "Fight Tonight," according to the military.
During the visit, Jin called on troops to maintain an overwhelming capability and posture for immediate deployment in the event of an enemy provocation.
The JCS chief also visited the Agency for Defense Development in the central city of Daejeon, a state-run agency in charge of developing advanced weapons systems, to discuss ways to secure the country's sovereign defense capabilities through advanced artificial intelligence-based technologies.
