Ahead of Sunday’s much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash at the ICC T20 World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, there has been intense discussion and scrutiny - with reels about Usman Tariq’s eccentric bowling action already flooding social media. However, Pakistan captain Salman Agha said the spinner remains unbothered by the talk surrounding his action.
“ICC (International Cricket Council) has tested him and cleared him twice. I don’t know what the fuss is all about. Anyway, he doesn’t get bothered,” the Pakistan skipper said while addressing the media ahead of the big clash at the ICC T20 World Cup.

Tariq’s bowling action - in which he unleashes the ball at an angle after an iota of pause - has stirred debate and raised questions about its legality.
Asked about his team’s mindset, considering Pakistan’s initial hesitation to play against India in the mega event, Salman said, “The magnitude of the game has always increased. When we came here, we were prepared for everything.”
The Pakistan captain also said they are settled with their top four batters. Salman also quipped that he grew grey hairs in his beard due to the pressure of captaincy.
“We have a lot of spinners and fast bowlers who can dominate. We have 15 players, and I can play any 11. I am confident about them,” Salman said.
Reiterating that cricket should be played in the right spirit, Salman also had a brief response when asked about the lack of handshakes from the Indian side and what he expects on Sunday. “We will see about it tomorrow,” he said.

Pakistan, after initially refusing to play India in the group-stage game to express its solidarity with Bangladesh - who had to pull out of the World Cup after the ICC did not entertain its request for an alternative venue and its unwillingness to play in India citing security reasons - agreed to play the match.
