US PresidentDonald Trumpwas filmed boasting aboutKing Charles's praise of the White House following the monarch's visit to the US last week, in new comments on Monday. The King and Queenspent four days across the pond to mark the 250th anniversaryof American independence, visiting Washington, New York and Virginia.

The royal couple met with theUS President on a number of occasionsbefore the King headed to Bermuda for a trip and the Queen returned home. Their frenetic schedule ranged from taking tea at the White House with Mr Trump and his wife Melania, a white-tie banquet in their honour, a historic address to Congress and a bunting-decked street party in rural Virginia.

Now the US President made new remarks about the royal visit as he welcomed small business owners to the official residence in Washington DC on Monday.

Mr Trump said the King and Queen thought the White House was “amazing,” noting they have “seen some very nice places”.

Hosting a small business summit on Monday, Mr Trump said: “I’m thrilled to be with you and welcome you to the most fabulous place, the White House.

“There is nothing quite like it. People come from all over the world.

“The King and Queen were just here, and they looked and they said, ‘This place is just amazing’.

“When they came into the Oval Office, they said, ‘This is something’. And they’ve seen some very nice places. They’ve seen some great rooms, but it is a very special place.”
