The Indian Army on Wednesday released a video on the anniversary ofOperation Sindoor, highlighting what it described as India’s “resolute”, “calibrated and precise” response. Sharing the video on social media with the caption “#JusticeServed”, the Army said India remains committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its people. The post ended with the message: “Jai Hind.”

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year, carrying out airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, eliminating at least 100 terrorists.

The strikes at the terror camps included the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headquarters at Bahawalpur, the Lashkar-e-Taiba's base at Muridke and terrorist infrastructure in Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot, Sawai Nala and Syed Na Bilal in Muzaffarabad, Gulpur and Abbas in Kotli, Barnala in Bhimber, and Sarjal.

The action triggered a rapid escalation in tensions with Pakistan launching retaliatory strikes on military and civilian sites, which were thwarted by the Indian military.

The hostilities ended with an understanding on halting the military actions on May 10 following talks over the hotline between army officials of the two sides.

Following the three-day conflict, India said that it will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail by Islamabad. "Operation Sindoor is India's policy against terrorism. This operation has drawn a new line, it is the new normal," Prime Minister Narendra Modisaidin an address to the nation last year.

PM Modi said that the May 7 operation sent a clear message to Pakistan: India will not hesitate to take decisive action. When the time comes, he added, India will make no distinction between terrorists and those who support or enable them — a pointed reference to Pakistan’s continued backing of terror launchpads on its soil.
