Atlanta rapper JaYy Wick (real name Donald Anderson, 26) was arrested on May 6, 2026, and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting at Panama City Beach, Florida.
On the night of April 25, 2026, during the “229 Takeover Weekend,” authorities say Anderson shot an 18-year-old man multiple times at Beach Access 83 in Panama City Beach. The victim suffered serious injuries but survived. After the alleged shooting, witnesses say JaYy Wick fled the scene and later performed at Vibez Nightclub in Panama City “as if nothing happened,” according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation and identified Anderson as the suspect through eyewitness accounts. Detectives tracked him across state lines to the Atlanta area.
On May 5–6, 2026, a multi-agency team—including the U.S. Marshals Service, Atlanta PD, Clayton County PD, and Panama City Beach PD—arrested him without incident. A firearm was recovered during the arrest. Body camera footage of the arrest (reportedly in a mall food court area) has circulated online.
Anderson is awaiting extradition to Florida, where he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years if convicted.
