James Minutillo, Medford native, is in his freshman year pitching for Farmingdale State College Baseball. The 2025 Patchogue-Medford alumnus is majoring in sports management, stands at 6-foot-5, weighs 190 pounds, and bats right and throws right.
Minutillo was esteemed the honor of Academic All-League with the Raiders and last spring helped lead the varsity squad to the Suffolk County Section XI League I playoffs.
Thus far this season in NCAA baseball, the Medford native has logged 16.2 innings in 10 games pitched and struck out 12 batters.
In his collegiate debut on March 10, Minutillo started the contest and pitched an inning, yielded one run and struck out three in a 21-6 win over Lehman. In two outings in relief, the freshman pitched a scoreless inning over Scranton, fanning two batters and held John Jay off the scoreboard in an inning of work in a 26-5 Farmingdale State victory.
On April 18, vs. St. Joseph’s, Minutillo pitched two innings out of the bullpen, yielded a run and struck out two in a 7-2 win. In a 20-2 win over Yeshiva, the Pat-Med alumnus pitched a shutout inning with a strikeout.
In a 12-1 win over Baruch, he started the game and garnered the win in four innings of scoreless ball and a strikeout. Defensively, Minutillo has put up admirable fielding statistics while on the hill with six catches, three putouts, and two assists with a .833 fielding percentage.
