President Trump on Wednesday held a surprise meeting in the Oval Office with UFC fighters ahead of the June UFC America250 fight at the White House.
UFC Freedom 250 will be hosted on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026 to celebrate 250 years of the US.
“Be Part of History UFC Freedom 250 celebrates the 250th birthday of the United States with a once-in-a-generation tribute to the American fighting spirit,” the UFC said in a press release.
“From the Revolution to the Octagon, this unforgettable event will unite generations through powerful storytelling and elite competition on the world’s greatest proving ground,” the UFC said.
President Trump praised the UFC fighters as warriors.
“These are the toughest people. These are the greatest fighters in the world. They’re all champions. And they’ll be fighting against very tough people also,” Trump said as he was flanked by the UFC fighters.
The president took questions from reporters after he unveiled the America250 octagon setup.
“You’re facing an opponent right now in Iran that has refused to submit. You seem optimistic announcing you may be closer to a deal – but what’s different now?” a reporter asked Trump about his latest decision to pause Project Freedom.
“Well, why do you say they refused to submit? You don’t know that! You don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors,” Trump said.
The reporter tried to interject: “They were firing on US troops a few days ago…”
