A Southern California family is devastated after a sheriff’s deputyshot and killed their beloved rottweiler “Daisy”while investigating a stolen car report and they want answers.

A deputy with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s entered the backyard of Jesus Serna on Sunday May 4 when he wasn’t home, the department told The Post.

Surveillancevideo obtained by KTLAshowed the deputy first being greeted by Raven, one of the family’s dogs, who wagged her tail as she approached the deputy.

The family’s other dog, Daisy, spots the deputy and starts barking. Theofficer then draws his gun and shootsDaisy, as she continued to approach him.

Serna and his family — who are not staying at the home while it’s under construction — are demanding justice for Daisy. The home owner said he wants to know why the deputy entered his property without permissionand why he shot and killedDaisy.

“She was just defending her home,” Serna toldKTLA. “I asked why they were there and they told me it was due to a vehicle being near my home that was stolen.”

“They attempted to knock on the door and then they let themselves in after.”

“The dogs have been with us for five years and are a part of our family,” Serna said. “It shows that the police department has no remorse for animals or literally anyone.”

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting is under review, and body-worn camera footage as well as surveillance footage will be reviewed.

“While searching the property, the deputy encountered a homeowner’s dog,” the statement read.
