Three men were arrested following a reported attempted burglary late Monday night, May 4, inRoslyn Heights, according to Nassau County police.
Authorities identified two of the suspects asWilliam Salmeron, 36, of Westbury, andDarwin Amaya, 35, of Hauppauge. Both were charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree attempted grand larceny and third-degree criminal trespass.
A third man,Aravinda Ramkistodas, 30, of Bay Shore, was charged with multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.
Officers responded at about 10:33 p.m. to a call of a burglary in progress at a residence on Spruce Street, detectives said. A 35-year-old homeowner reported seeing two unidentified men on his surveillance system attempting to break into an outdoor storage unit and immediately called 911.
Before officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle in an unknown direction, police said.
Following an investigation, officers located the three men and took them into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
Salmeron and Amaya were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court inHempstead. Ramkistodas was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court on May 19.
