Will Suryakumar Yadav shake hands with Salman Agha at the toss before their much-awaited 2026 T20 World Cup game in Colombo on Sunday (February 15)? Suryakumar, who is famous for his cheeky remarks in press conferences, gave a cryptic response to the million-dollar question. He asked for patience and said that a call on it would be taken before the game. "Wait for 24 hours, eat well, sleep, we have 24 hours, will take a call tomorrow," he said. India snubbed Pakistan in all three games during the 2025 Asia Cup and there were no handshakes between the two captains.
There was no customary handshake between the players as well. India embarrassed Pakistan in all three matches, including the final, to lift the Asia Cup trophy once again. The Men in Blue were also against collecting the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, who is the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council and the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Naqvi was hell-bent on giving the trophy and he ran away with it after India's decision. India are yet to receive the Asia Cup trophy.
What Salman Agha said on handshake?
Salman Agha didn't confirm whether he would shake hands with his counterpart. Speaking to the media, the Pakistan captain said: "We will see about it tomorrow. Cricket should be played in spirit. My personal opinion may not matter, but cricket should be played the way it has always been played. It’s up to them to decide what to do."
