Washington DC:United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday (May 6) issued a new ultimatum to Iran if it does not agree to America's demands. He warned Iran of fresh rounds of bombing with more "intensity" than before. Hinting at ending ‘Operation Epic Fury’, the US President said that the military campaign will end only if all US demands are met. Meanwhile, boasting about the US Navy’s action in theStrait of Hormuz, Trump said that the key waterway would be open to all only due to the naval blockade.
“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran. If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” Trump said in his Truth Social post.

The reported framework consists of a "one-page, 14-point memorandum of understanding" designed to trigger an immediate ceasefire and launch a "30-day negotiation window" to hammer out a broader settlement.
Under these terms, Iran would reportedly agree to a short-term pause in nuclear enrichment. In exchange, the US would initiate the removal of sanctions and the unfreezing of billions of dollars in Iranian assets. Furthermore, both nations would also work to ease transit constraints within the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway which accounted for 20 per cent of the world's crude oil and liquified natural gas (LNG) trade before the start of the war on February 28. After the US and Israeli airstrikes on Tehran on February 28, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps IRGC) blocked the strait. Meanwhile, the US also imposed a naval blockade in the strait on April 13, after the failure of the first round of peace talks between the US and Iran.
