Korea and Morocco agreed to closely cooperate for the early launch of negotiations for a bilateral comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA), Seoul's trade ministry said Wednesday.

Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo and Omar Hejira, Morocco's secretary of state to the minister of industry and trade, held a virtual meeting to explore ways to expand economic cooperation and launch negotiations for CEPA, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.

The two side agreed to launch their CEPA negotiations soon as the pact will serve as a catalyst for bilateral economic cooperation.

Yeo said Korea-Morocco CEPA will help Korean companies expand their business diversification and trading realm. (Yonhap)
