A flight scheduled to evacuate a sick doctor from the MV Hondius ship that has beeen hit by a deadly outbreak of hantavirus to Spain’s Canary Islands has been cancelled, a source close to the regional presidency told AFP.

The source, who gave no reason for the cancellation, added that regional officials lack sufficient information about the potential risks tied to the ship’s planned arrival in the islands from Cape Verde.
