A recent update shared by Shoaib Ibrahim about his actor wife Dipika Kakar has sparked widespread interest in a simple yet powerful health habit - drinking freshly prepared black coffee for liver health. In aYouTube vlog, Ibrahim revealed that doctors have advised Dipika to include black coffee in her daily routine as part of her recovery and overall wellness plan. Recently, Kakar underwent another surgery, as a 1.3 cm cyst reappeared near her liver.
Shoaib said the doctor advised them to make coffee with freshly ground beans and use a coffee maker. Explaining further, he said that fresh coffee is believed to be more helpful for the liver in comparison to its packaged alternatives.

Doctors increasingly highlight the benefits of black coffee, especially for liver function. Coffee is packed with antioxidants and bioactive compounds that may help reduce inflammation and support liver repair. According to studies, regular consumption of black coffee can lower the risk of liver diseases, including fatty liver, fibrosis, and even certain types of liver cancer.
In Dipika’s case, this recommendation comes after her ongoing treatment for Liver Cancer. She recently underwent another surgery following the recurrence of a cyst near her liver. Earlier, doctors had removed a tennis-ball-sized cyst along with approximately 22 per cent of her liver, making lifestyle and dietary adjustments even more critical for her recovery.
Fresh coffee retains higher levels of antioxidants such as chlorogenic acids, which are known to support liver detoxification
Shoaib emphasized that doctors specifically advised against instant coffee mixes. Instead, they recommended using freshly ground coffee beans prepared with a coffee maker. The reason lies in the quality and concentration of beneficial compounds.
Fresh coffee retains higher levels of antioxidants such as chlorogenic acids, which are known to support liver detoxification and reduce oxidative stress. Instant coffee, on the other hand, often undergoes heavy processing and may contain additives that dilute its health benefits. As Shoaib explained in the vlog, switching to freshly brewed coffee is considered more effective for liver support. This simple change ensures that the body receives maximum nutritional value from each cup.
According to the couple, doctors suggested consuming three to four cups of black coffee daily for optimal benefits. However, moderation and individual tolerance are key. While Shoaib mentioned he drinks at least two cups a day, the exact amount can vary depending on a person’s health condition, caffeine sensitivity, and lifestyle.
Excessive caffeine intake can lead to side effects such as insomnia, anxiety, or increased heart rate. Therefore, it’s always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes.
