We already knew the Biden-era crime stats were useless because they were incomplete, but even the numbers we had were deliberately misreported.

American voters already knew on an intuitive level that American cites were worse under Biden than they had been prior. For all kinds of reasons. Revolving door judicial system. Politicized law enforcement. Selective enforcement of laws. Exponential growth of gang and cartel activity under open borders. On and on and on.

But time an again we were assured that we couldn’t believe our lying eyes when their statistics painted a much rosier picture of crime in America.

Normally this would be a good opportunity to invoke Twain’s ‘Lies, damned lies, and statistics’ quote. But not this time.

There WERE no real statistics in this example. Just ANOTHER category of lies. Maybe call it ‘political lies’. Like anything else their political machine gets their hooks into, crime stats were a rigged game intended to push a political agenda.

There could soon be a seismic shift at the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), after the department handed down termination papers to 13 officials related to the internal investigation into allegations of crime data manipulation.

During a press conference Tuesday afternoon, MPD Interim Chief Jeffrey Carroll confirmed the disciplinary action taken, and that each case was related to the crime statistic investigation.

The officials involved have not been fired at this point, and can appeal, but are currently on administrative leave as the process continues to play out.

“We use crime statistics everyday to help us with deployment across the city. I do have confidence in those numbers,” Carroll said. “We don’t want to minimize any crime. Obviously, we want to make sure crimes are appropriately classified. We’ll continue to work with that, making sure officers have the appropriate classification. Regardless of the classification of the crime, we want to make sure all crimes are appropriately investigated.” —WJLA

The termination process has begun. This documentation is the first step. But the process has to play out. For now, the officers are on administrative leave, with Interim Chief Carroll explaining what happens next:
