Mumbai Mulund Metro Pillar Collapse:A section of a metro pillar collapsed in Mumbai's Mulund area on Saturday (February 14), with the cement portion falling onto multiple vehicles traveling below. Three to four people in the affected vehicles are suspected to have been injured. Officials stated that the incident occurred during construction work. The pillar collapse triggered widespread panic among commuters and residents in Mumbai. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as vehicles were struck and locals rushed to help those trapped.

According to officials, no casualties have been reported so far.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) addressed the situation and confirmed that help has been dispatched to the site for rescue operations. The BMC stated, "Part of a metro pillar collapsed near Johnson & Johnson Company, LBS Road, Mulund (W) today at 12:20 pm. During construction, a section of the cement metro pillar collapsed and fell onto a rickshaw. Mumbai Fire Brigade, Police, Metro staff, Ward staff, and 108 Ambulance services are present at the site. Three to four people in the autorickshaw are likely injured. Details are awaited."

As seen in a video shared by a news agency, several locals, along with officials from the police and fire departments, were observed moving the vehicle to help the suspected individuals.

The metro pillar collapse has triggered panic among commuters and residents in Mumbai. Several people on X have raised serious safety concerns.

"Due to their negligence public have to face the loss. Their no quality check for such government bodies. Very poor infrastructure. Shame on you @MMRDAOfficial @Dev_Fadnavis @mihirkotecha @mybmcWardT," said a social media user.
