Former Rep. Yang Kyung-sook will attend Friday's inauguration ceremony for Costa Rica's new president and hold a separate meeting with her, presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said.

At the meeting, Yang will give Fernandez a briefing on the Korean government's governing philosophy and foreign policy, and deliver Lee's personal letter to her that will stress the need to further develop the countries' bilateral ties, according to Kang.

The special envoy will also attend receptions to be hosted by the new president and foreign minister of Costa Rica, where she will convey the Korean government's commitment to strengthening cooperation in economic, infrastructure and education sectors, among other areas, Kang said.
